Notice: DDPP starts charging on 22 October 2026
DDPP has been free while it is in testing. This is the notice our Terms of Service require before a price applies, given at least 30 days in advance.
From 22 October 2026, publishing a passport costs one credit. Everything that comes before publishing stays free, and reading a passport stays free for everyone, for good. The prices are on the pricing page.
What this means for you
- Nothing is charged to your business without its agreement. No card is on file and none will be taken. Credits are bought when you choose to buy them. - Nothing you have already published is affected. Passports published before 25 October stay online at no cost, and their codes go on working. - Every organization keeps five free credits to publish with, and organizations set up before this date that have not used theirs still have them. - Drafting stays free. Describing products, writing passports, recording production steps with photos and documents, and checking readiness all cost nothing, as they do today. You pay at the moment you publish, and not before.
If you would rather leave
You can end your contract at any time, take a copy of everything you have put in, and choose for each published passport whether it stays online or is erased. Exporting, switching to another provider and erasure are free of charge. Section 14 of the Terms of Service sets out the dates and what we do.
Why we are charging
Passports have to stay readable for as long as the product's law requires, which means someone has to keep serving them years after the batch has been sold. Charging for publishing is the part that pays for that, and it is the part where you get something you can point at — a code on a product that opens a page anywhere in the world.
